Have you always dreamed of having the perfect garden wedding, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful blooms? Then look no further than the amazing Anam Cara Gardens in Otaki!
Less than an hour from Wellington, Anam Cara has a whopping 10 stunning acres of the most incredible manicured gardens. There’s also a gorgeous main house which is available to rent for your bridal preparation. As well as the groom’s quarters in a separate part of the gardens – so there’s enough room for everyone to get ready onsite! This is a rare find, and is part of the reason that Anam Cara is one of my absolute favourite venues.
There are so many amazing spots to have your ceremony, but to me, nothing quite beats The Laneway. So of course, I was delighted when Jennifer and Stuart chose this spot for their ceremony! The most perfect spot to tie the knot – these two followed up the magical formalities with photos, drinks and lawn games in the main garden, set against the beautiful mature trees (which, by the way, make the best backdrop for family and group photos!).
After some time with their guests, Jennifer, Stuart and I wandered down to the far end of Anam Cara to some of the more secluded spots to make the most of the quiet. We captured some dreamy photos of the two of them in the late afternoon light before a wander back to the reception.
Anam Cara’s reception space is perfectly modern and light, with so much space in the dining area, and even a separate dance floor for later in the evening. After a fantastic dinner by Blue Carrot Catering (always amazing) we jumped in the car and headed two minutes down the road to Otaki Beach, to make the most of Kapiti’s stunning sunsets. The night was perfectly rounded off with hours on the dance floor, partying the night away!
A massive shout out to Tim and Teresa, who own Anam Cara Gardens – these two are some of the kindest, most lovely venue owners and hosts you’ll ever come across. Book with these guys and you know you’ll be in safe hands!
